The Christmas-themed Jingle Bell SPLASH will be the only meet that 51���� swimming hosts this season, and the Greenies optimized their time in friendly water Saturday.  

PORTLAND – About the time 51���� shook off any lingering jet lag, there was still a matter of a waterlogged course and the stoutest competition the Greenies had seen all season long.  

PORTLAND - Imagine being on the opposite side of the country and still being able to watch a brother have one of the biggest race performances of his career.

In person, nonetheless.

Announcing the 2025 All-Western Football Conference team, which includes recognition for 19 Greenies. The WFC is a four-team league made up of 51����, Cannon School, Metrolina Christian Academy, and Rabun Gap (Ga.).

Nothing less computes with a historic season for 51���� cross country that is stretching into December. 

Two seniors whose primary responsibility was to stop opponents had the green light to sign with their respective colleges Thursday, part of a special, school-wide celebration in St. Joseph’s Chapel. 

Congratulations to Niko Andrews ’26 (University of Richmond football) and Felix Huebner ’26 (Loyola University Maryland soccer) for taking this next step in their athletic careers. 

Cross country takes on a whole new meaning for 51���� in the first weekend back from Thanksgiving Break.

The Greenies will make the trek to Portland for Saturday morning’s Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) meet, by virtue of winning the Southeast regional championship over break.

In the case of 51���� soccer, respect is not given, it’s earned with the first state championship in the program’s history.

Announcing the 2025 Fall Sports All-Academic Team, coming on the heels of the best-ever seasons for soccer and cross country, which still has next month’s Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) in Portland. Every one of these Greenies carries a weighted grade-point average above 4.0, exemplifying the true student-athlete experience at 51����. 

CARY, N.C. - By any name, it’s history in the rear-view with Portland on the horizon.  

51���� cross country chose the pseudo moniker, “Royal Pines Distance Project” as an homage to the place, and the hard training, the team has put into this program-defining season. 
 

CHARLOTTE — Trailing 63-56 and with the fourth quarter winding down rather perilously, 51���� varsity basketball found another gear Saturday.

The Greenies closed out a 67-63 win over the Academy of Central Florida with an 11-0 scoring run to remain undefeated at 6-0.

CARY, N.C. – A momentous day for a program which is on the rise not only statewide and regionally, but nationally. 

51���� cross country continued its undefeated season by winning today's Nike Cross Regionals (NXR) Southeast championship for the first time in Cary, N.C., with 72 points. 

Not enough to lose a first game. 

West Virginia University recruit Kingston Whitty ’26 stepped up with a game-high 22 points to lift the Greenies past Charlotte Providence Day, 69-53, on the first day of the George Lynch Invitational at Myers Park High School. 

Personal records, season-best times, and podium finishes. 

Tuesday’s meet at Charlotte Latin – the final one of November for 51���� swimming – contained a little bit of everything with positives across the board.

BRYSON CITY, N.C. – Senior Owen Gillespie ’26 scored 17 points in the first varsity win of the season for 51���� wrestling on Saturday.

DAVIDSON, N.C. – It must be said: There are levels to this. 

The quizzical lack of respect for North Carolina’s only Nike EYBL team and a three-time state champion in the largest NCISAA classification was compounded by the fact that 51���� varsity basketball beat the same opponent by 20 points last winter. 

Still somehow the consensus among pollsters and pundits was that the Greenies were an underdog Saturday night.

Dacen Petty ‘26 was feeling it Friday with seven 3-pointers, part of a 36-point night in a 69-52 road win at Victory Christian.
