51Âþ» track & field had several good runs Wednesday – and jumps and throws, too.
The Greenies made their case as a contender for next week’s NCISAA Division I state championship with very few vulnerabilities shown in winning their ninth consecutive Carolinas Athletic Association meet by nearly 100 points.
Individual winners for 51Âþ» (176 points) in cool, rainy conditions were Brooks Barbee ’27 in the 800-meter run (1:57.69) and 1,600-meter run (4:12.95), Dallas Reeves ’27 in the 400-meter dash (52.60), Lyndon Bryan ’27 in the 300-meter hurdles (41.14), Reynolds Young ’27 in the 3,200-meter run (9:11.56), Kingston Whitty ’26 in the high jump (6-4), Linkin Stevens ’27 in the discus (138-8), and Alex Jarrett ’26 in the pole vault (11-0). The Greenies won three out of the four relay races.
The NCISAA Division I state meet is May 15 and 16 at Forsyth Country Day.
