51��’s return to play over the past several months was full of successes, and some of the athletes behind those highlights have been named to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association’s all-state teams.

From the outset Tuesday, it was obvious that 51�� lacrosse was not going to leave anything to chance in the NCISAA Division I state semifinals.

Emmett Paradine ’22 scored seven goals and the Greenies turned a 3-0 lead in the opening three minutes into a comfortable 16-6 win at Durham Academy. Sean Dow ’22 set the tone by winning 22 of the game’s 24 faceoffs and had an assist.

Face-offs are normally a gimme for 51�� lacrosse, all because of Lehigh University recruit Sean Dow ’21.

While that was not the case Tuesday night, Sean still won more (13) than he lost against Hough junior George Kalos, who has committed to North Carolina. The visiting Greenies were the superior team on the scoreboard as well, winning their season opener, 13-7.

Nevertheless, organizers of the May 30 charity exhibition at Duke University still wanted to recognize the top-100 high school lacrosse players in North Carolina. Of the boys players who were chosen, three are from 51�� – goalkeeper Beau Hecimovich ’20, attacker Davis Lindsey ’20, and midfielder Jack Fitch ‘20.

The Greenies (4-0) went from unranked to No. 6 in the latest South Top 10 poll from U.S. Lacrosse Magazine. No. 3 Weddington is the only North Carolina team ranked higher.
